Airport-to-downtown distance and route in 10 Colombian cities

When planning a transfer, the first question is usually how many kilometers from the airport to downtown. That's useful, but incomplete: two cities with the same distance can take very different amounts of time depending on the route in. Below are both variables together — distance and access corridor — for the 10 cities we cover.

Why distance alone isn't enough

A 6 km trip through a congested urban road can take longer than a 24 km trip on a high-speed corridor. That's why it's worth checking both: how far, and by which route.

The second factor is timing. Airport access corridors are usually also main roads in the city, so the same trip changes quite a bit during rush hour. For a transfer to the airport, that margin is what decides whether you arrive with time to spare or racing the clock.

How to use this to pick your departure time

For an outbound transfer, a practical rule of thumb is to add three blocks: the trip time from the table, a traffic margin for your flight's time slot, and the check-in lead time your airline requires.

For arrival transfers, we handle the calculation for you: your flight is tracked in real time and the pickup time adjusts on its own if it's early or delayed, without you needing to let us know.
